Rated 5 out of 5 by Emery B from Great Inexpensive Rod & Reel Combo I purchased two of these for my first catfishing tournament. I had caught a couple fish with them and they were smooth and durable. I also got them snagged in some rocks and had put them to the test trying to pull my line back in. These rods held up great and feel great too. I plan on getting 1 or 2 more down the road.

On the hookset on first fish, the rod snapped in half about an inch above the handle, in the thickest part. Was able to handling in the 4lb cat. Never in 25 years of fishing have I seen a rod break like this. Absolute junk.

The rod is a brute and well made. The reel is solid for the price and will be more than adequate. Not afraid to have it sitting in sand or mud as I am sure will happen. Would purchase this again!
